PIRAZZI SIGNS AN AMAZING TRIS!!!
The hat-trick at Giro d’Italia has arrived and to conquer it has been Stefano Pirazzi that won Stage 17 of 208km from Sarnonico to Vittorio Veneto. An outstanding result for Fiuggi climber that reach his first pro win and for Bardiani – CSF Pro Team, now together with Orica Greenedge and FDJ, is one of the most successful team in this edition of Giro d’Italia.

REPORT
The stage was decided by an early breakaway of 22 rides with inside three of #Greenteam: Stefano Pirazzi, Nicola Boem and Marco Canola. The escapees gained more than 13:30 minutes and in this way they had the possibility to sprint for stage win.
The first rider to attack with 25km to go was De Gendt (OPQ) getting about 0:30 seconds from the chasers. Behind before hit Ca’ del Poggio uphill,Canola and Boem made a fast pace and then on the climb Pirazzi attacked, bridged to De Gendt on the top. During the following descent, slippery for the rain, other three arrived, composing a decisive group of five riders.
With 3km to go De Gendt tried again but without success, then 1.5km was the time of Pirazzi. His attacks was right, he gained 100 meters and turns solo on the final straight. The chasers tried to bridge but Pirazzi was too fast and went to win Stage 17. A victory really deserved for #Greenteamrider that after the arrival started to cry for the emotion.

:”A liberation, finally after five years I have won my first race and it happened at Giro d’Italia. It’s a success that means a lot because few people know as I have suffered during the last period. Today when I went into the break with Canola and Boem, we ran as a top team, all focused to win. Thanks to them and the whole squad fundamental. It’s still difficult believe that it happened”.

Tomorrow Giro d’Italia will presents the Stage 18 with a demanding top mountain finish on Rifugio Panarotta, set after 171km and other two long uphill to climb.
