The Grand Prix 4000-S is the new leader in Continental’s racing tires made with Black Chili compound. Thanks to this incredible formula both performance and adhesion are increased by over 25%. Maintaining a superior grip faster rolling and longer tread life this results in the fastest and best adhering tire in the peleton. Continuing the tradition of innovation this is one of the first racing tires to implement Vectran™ technology the answer to true puncture protection. Vectran™ is a multi-fibered thermoplastic yarn made of melted liquid crystal polymer that offers more resistance to cuts than traditional Aramid and is five times as strong as steel. It also is very light and maintains its strength even in wet conditions. Combined with an advanced Activated Silica Compound™ that increases the handling threshold and reduces the rolling resistance the new tread design transfers the grip from the new ASC™ compound and is part of the “fast look” of a road-racing bike. Unique new tread wear indicators show the level of abrasion which benefits the rider in two ways: One you don’t lose mileage performance by prematurely replacing the tire and two you don’t risk safety by using a tire beyond its tread service life.

700c x 23c width clincher tire. Recommended PSI: 110-120. 205 grams.
